For over 15 years, First United Methodist Church of Gilbert has sponsored a Turkey Drive to help less fortunate families within our community to have a Thanksgiving Celebration meal.

In 2019 we raised almost $4,800 and provided 124 boxes to over 300 people. There were 25 driver volunteers that helped deliver the boxes. We worked with AZCEND to get the family names, and Albertsons at Gilbert and Riggs packaged everything together for us.

2020 Turkey Drive Information


  • Donate $40 to provide an entire Turkey dinner for a family on Thanksgiving
  • Donate online through gilbertumc.org/giving and select “Turkey Drive”.
  • Donations may also be mailed to the church office, please write “Turkey Drive” in the memo field to designate the funds for the drive.
  • Deadline: Sunday, November 22nd
    Delivery Drivers:

  • Delivery drivers needed on Monday, November 23rd. Sign up online here!
  • You will be given the location to pick up the meals (already packed and ready to go) along with names/addresses/maps to the families homes.
  • Each driver typically delivers 2-3 meals.
  • Deadline: Sunday, November 22nd

The meal boxes also contain a special Thanksgiving prayer along with information and  an invitation to our church.
