Garden of the Beatitudes & Memorial Columbarium
A Sacred Place of Remembrance, Reflection and Hope

The Garden of the Beatitudes and Memorial Columbarium at First United Methodist Church of Gilbert offers a peaceful and sacred place to remember those we love and to reflect on the promise of eternal life.

Located on our church campus, the Garden provides a place where members, families and friends can pause, pray and remember loved ones in a setting connected to the church community that has been an important part of their lives.

Our Garden is more than a place of final rest. It is a place of healing, prayer, remembrance and hope.

What Is a Columbarium?

A columbarium is a sacred place where the cremated remains of loved ones are permanently placed in individual niches.

For many families, choosing a columbarium provides the comfort of knowing that a loved one's final resting place will remain connected to their church and faith community.

The Garden of the Beatitudes provides a beautiful setting for this ministry, incorporating peaceful spaces for reflection, memorial plantings, benches and other elements that help create an environment of remembrance and prayer.

Why Choose Our Columbarium?

For many of us, our church is more than a building. It is where we have worshiped, celebrated milestones, raised families, formed friendships and grown in our faith. The Columbarium provides an opportunity for that connection to continue.

Planning ahead can be a meaningful gift to those we love.Making arrangements in advance can provide peace of mind and relieve family members from having to make difficult decisions during a time of grief. It allows you to make your wishes known and gives your family confidence that your final resting place has already been thoughtfully chosen.

The Garden provides a peaceful place for family and friends to visit, reflect and remember.

Whether marking an anniversary, celebrating a birthday, observing All Saints' Day or simply needing a quiet place to feel close to someone we have lost, the Garden offers a setting for remembrance and prayer.

Choosing a niche in the First United Methodist Church of Gilbert Columbarium means remaining part of the church community that has been important to you.

It is a way of creating a lasting connection between generations of our church family.

As Christians, we grieve because we love — but we also remember the promise at the heart of our faith. The Garden of the Beatitudes reminds us of Jesus' teachings and the hope, comfort and peace found in God's presence. It is a place where sorrow and celebration can exist together: a place to remember lives well lived, relationships deeply cherished and faith that continues beyond this life.
