Mission of our Health Ministry

The mission of First United Methodist Church of Gilbert Health Ministry is to empower members of this faith community and surrounding community to embrace a holistic approach to the health of mind, body and spirit.

We achieve this by providing

  • Leadership in identifying and responding to health-related needs
  • Prevention and enrichment programs
  • Group education
  • Coordination of congregation and community health resources

Roles of the Health Ministry and the Faith Community Nurse (Parish Nurse)

  • Health and faith integration
  • Education for health maintenance and prevention of disease
  • Advocate for individuals and their families
  • Liaison to community resources
  • Training and coordination of Health Ministry volunteers
  • Health counseling to clarify and interpret health care language

This bible-based class will teach you everything you need to know about dumping debt, building wealth, and changing your family tree.

Divorce Care

Divorce recovery support group discovering help and healing for the hurt of separation and divorce.

Green Team

God has granted us stewardship of creation. We should meet these stewardship duties through acts of loving care and respect.

Joseph Ministry

Ministry to church members who need help maintaining their homes.

Medical Equipment Lending

Lending closet filled with , crutches, wheelchairs, walkers, canes and shower chairs.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Hand made prayer shawls are for celebrations such as baptisms and members who are suffering from illness, loss of a loved one or a difficult time or in life.

Special Needs Support

Support for parents of children with special needs as well as education to the faith community.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry provides one-to-one Christian care to the bereaved, hospitalized, terminally ill, and others facing a crisis or life challenge.

Zumba

Dance & Exercise
